The Medical Sciences degree aims to provide a science programme, related to medicine, with strong professional research elements. Students will receive a firm foundation of scientific teaching, considering human health and disease at a micro and macro level. This enables students to develop, integrate and apply knowledge at the interface of scientific discovery and clinical practice.

As a graduate, students will be equipped with a broad skill set, making the course an ideal 1st choice for those interested in a Health-based career but who want to keep their options open. It is also a perfect 5th choice for those whose primary aim is Medicine or Dentistry; for high-achieving students this degree may act as a stepping stone into Medical Schools as a graduate entrant.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: 1-Year Post-Secondary Certificate
  • Min GPA: 60.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 75 (Min Listening: 17.0, Min Reading: 18.0, Min Speaking: 20.0, Min Writing: 18.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6 (Min Listening: 5.5, Min Reading: 5.5, Min Speaking: 5.5, Min Writing: 5.5)
    • Min PTE overall: 56 (Min Listening: 51, Min Reading: 51, Min Speaking: 51, Min Writing: 51)
    Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4 (Min Listening: 4, Min Reading: 4, Min Speaking: 4, Min Writing: 4)
    • Min PTE overall: 30 (Min Listening: 30, Min Reading: 30, Min Speaking: 30, Min Writing: 30)
