Studying for  a Bachelor of Vision Science will begin a student's journey towards a career in optometry. This course has been developed with academics, practitioners and representatives from international optometry companies and will be launched in the same year UC opens the doors to our state-of-art UC Public Hospital. During the degree students will develop foundation knowledge and skills in the biomedical sciences with a specific focus on optical and vision sciences. Students will also broaden their skills in business and management related areas should they choose to explore private practice. On graduating from this undergraduate degree students will be eligible for entry into a Master of Optometry.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: Grade 12 / High School
  • Min GPA: 50.0% 
  • English Proficiency Requirements:
    For direct admission, applicant must be from an English speaking country or meet either of the following English test scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 60 (Min Listening: 12.0, Min Reading: 13.0, Min Speaking: 18.0, Min Writing: 21.0)
    • Min IELTS overall: 6 (Min Listening: 6.0, Min Reading: 6.0, Min Speaking: 6.0, Min Writing: 6.0)
    • Min PTE overall: 50 (Min Listening: 50, Min Reading: 50, Min Speaking: 50, Min Writing: 50)
    For conditional admission, you are required to provide English proficiency scores:
    • Min TOEFL iBT: 32
    • Min IELTS overall: 4.5
