De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) offers a postgraduate pathway. The Pre-Master's is the first stage of the International Incorporated Masters (IIM) and is delivered at DMUIC.

The IIM is helpful for students who want extra support during their postgraduate studies. Throughout the IIM, students will be given support with their English language training and taught academic skills to bring them to postgraduate success. In addition to project work and tests, students will be given feedback in person and in writing so that they know how they are doing, and how to improve.

The Fine Art MA at DMU will help students develop their artistic practice, contextual awareness and theoretical understanding within a stimulating and distinctive studio environment.

 

The course will introduce students to emerging trends in contemporary practice and enable them to find their voice in a fast-evolving visual culture that is increasingly collaborative, networked and dispersed. Students will leave equipped with all the necessary skills to produce and exhibit their work, to deal with change, and to negotiate their individual, critical and creative position.

The course is designed to give students the skills for continuous development throughout their artistic, professional, and academic life. Students will be supported from the outset in developing research methods and aims that are pertinent to their creative practice and their professional ambitions. The course will develop students' specialist knowledge to an advanced level and give them hands-on experience of contemporary practice. Students will be taught by exhibiting artists and research-active academics with expertise in drawing, painting, sculpture, analogue and digital photography, digital media, printmaking, public art, installation and relational practice.
