Bachelor of Applied Science - Geological Engineering (Co-op) at University of Waterloo: Tuition: $58,898.00 CAD/year (Scholarship Available)
This program is perfect for students who are adventurous and enjoy the outdoors! Waterloo is known for hands-on learning, and as Geological Engineering students, they will get their hands dirty through field courses and co-op jobs. These practical opportunities allow students to see geological processes first hand. With just 15 to 20 students in first year, they will be able work closely with classmates and professors. Through co-op, they will gain 2 years of paid work experience, earn money to help pay for their education, and try out different career areas. As geological engineers, students will use their knowledge of soil and rock behavior to address issues of hazardous waste removal, groundwater, minerals exploration, and new petroleum production technologies. This Geological Engineering program is one of only 2 in Ontario. Offered jointly by the Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences departments, the program develops students' engineering designs and problem-solving skills, and gives them a solid background in earth sciences.
